The MASTER ADVOCATE

​​Alanda Cormier, M.Ed.  is a professional Master Advocate  based in Banning, California.  

In 1992 Alanda earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree from the School of Psycology and Special Education at Mcneese State University in Lake Charles, LA.  Later in the year 2000 she returned to school and now holds a Master of Education in Special Education with a specialization in Hearing Impairements. whhch she earned at the University of New Orleans.

She attended Shepard Broad Law School where she earned hours in education law.  She discontinued the law school education after being injured in a serious car accident.

Alanda has a diverse background as a real estate investor,  former special education teacher, community organizer and State Board of Education Transition Coordinator.

Specialties: Certified professional master special education advocate and expert in probate/trust sales. 

Cormier is deeply involved in community service and has held several leadership roles: 
Junior League: A sustaining member of the Junior League of Riverside and previously served with the Junior League of Lafayette for nearly a decade.
Advocacy: Served as a parent coordinator and consultant for Families and Friends of Louisiana's Incarcerated Children, focusing on juvenile justice and peer advocacy.
Media & Arts: Former Vice-President of the Executive Board for Acadiana Open Channel Inc.. 

Former Assist. Secretary for bible class IDMR Lafayette branch.

Spent years as a foster parent and adopted a family member from foster care.
